Volunteers Needed - Inventory and Shelving
It is time for our quarterly inventory. It will be on April 28th. Volunteers help is always appreciated. Please contact me (Dani) if you will be here so we can expect you, to let you in the door.
Also, we are in need of volunteer shelvers for adult and children's books. The most critical times are during the week. We will also need many shelvers for this summer. It's a great way to earn community service hours for high school requirements.
Please contact Dani Elder at danielle@wblibrary.org if you would like to help out with our inventory or volunteer to shelf books.

Volunteer of the Month - April
This month's Volunteer of the Month is Alexis Kotokou. He has been volunteering as a shelver since December of 2010. The staff has nominated him because of the way he lights up the library when he walks in with his positive, sunny disposition and attitude. He sometimes shelves several times a week, and is up for any task we ask of him, and even ones that we don't. We couldn't do this without volunteers like Alexis! So, thanks to Alexis for contributing his time and brightening our day at the Wells Branch Community Library.

Spring Fever

This week is a week when many of our library volunteers are taking spring break vacations. As a result the books are really starting to build up, particularly in the children's area. Volunteers are desperately needed to help us reshelve books. If you have some extra time we would appreciate the help.
If you have never volunteered before it is a great time to start. See our website for details.

Volunteer of the Month -Roberta Mankowski
Roberta has been so helpful to the WBCL staff the past few months. In the short time I have been here she has helped with inventory, helped with the children's reference desk, run our Family story time, and helped shelf children's books. We have really been able to depend on her when we really needed her, and the staff is also so grateful to have her as a volunteer here. She has volunteered here since August of last year.
Thank you, Roberta, for your time and efforts. You are much appreciated.

An Appealing Appeal for Inventory Volunteers
WBCL's next inventory day is coming up on Thursday, January 27. We still need volunteers to help us out. Typically volunteers help scan barcodes and I can't be the only one who thinks that is kind of fun. Can I? There's usually shelving, shelf-shifting, light cleaning and other assorted tasks to do if scanning doesn't sweep you off your feet.
Did I mention the food yet? We'll have lunch provided and WBCL never does an inventory without an army-ready assortment of goodies.
If you are interested in lunch with a side of scanning, please let me know.
Thank you!
